How do we learn better, on our own or with a teacher?

Needless to say, there are many ways in which people prefer to study. Some individuals choose to go to the library and study in silence, others go for private classes and others prefer to go to class and then study by themselves with some music on, but what is the best way to learn, by yourself or with a teacher?

I have met many people in my life and they all have had different tastes when it comes to studying. I had a friend that got so nervous in class that she preferred study her degree online with a virtual teacher. However, I personally prefer going to class, listening to all the explanations and then going home and studying based on what the teacher has said because I find it easier. There are certain subjects like for example biology or chemistry that are very difficult to understand if you do not have someone to explain it in the first place. Actually if I were someone who was trying to decide whether to study online or with a teacher, I would recommend that they study with a teacher or a tutor, as they will get me through all the subjects more efficiently.

However, I also see eye to eye with people who believe that in certain cases, it is better to study online. I am aware that not everyone lives next to for example a university and that perhaps going to class takes them 2 hours or more by car or bus every day. In that case, if I were a person in that situation I would undoubtedly go for online learning as it would avoid my loosing too much study time.

Therefore, I believe that although it depends on the case, a teacher makes your life easier when it gets to learning as they explain what you really need to know in a very slick and interesting way, helping you learn it effortlessly.

Happiness

Happiness in living the best life I can
Happiness in having all those people I can trust
Happiness in being loved
Happiness in being fighting for my dreams
Happiness in having something to tell
Happiness in being able to study something I like
Happiness in not losing my time
Happiness in doing what I like
Happiness in not being judged by my acts
Happiness in having the family I have
Happiness in arriving home
Happiness in having you all
Happiness in knowing that hopefully this will not end too soon
Happiness in telling you about myself
Happiness in being born in this world
Happiness in having all I have got
Happiness because I do not have to change
Happiness in being in love
Happiness in loving this world
Happiness because I am able to breathe
Happiness in being able to respect everyone
Happiness in not having to say goodbye to anyone
Happiness due to the past events
Happiness in waking up and finding you
Happiness in not forgetting you
Happiness in being able to look at you
I´ve said that.

Fear

Fear of being on my own
Fear of losing someone I love
Fear of getting home
Fear of finding an ambulance at the door
Fear of having to look after everything on my own
Fear of not seeing any of them anymore
Fear of being on my own
Fear of not being able to put up with sadness
Fear of not having enough life
Fear of waking up to an empty room
Fear of forgetting you
Fear of not having you
Fear of not living with you all
Fear of not travelling with you anymore
Fear of not hearing your voices
Fear of silence at home
Fear they will disappear without trace
Fear of the past events
Fear of death
Fear this will end too soon
Fear of waking up to find any of you gone
Fear of not loving and fear of not being loved
Fear that something will change
Fear of living without you
Fear of not being able to celebrate birthdays
Fear of losing this lovely family I have

I´ve said that.

Human Activity and Global Warming

Nowadays, it is common knowledge that due to issues such as global warming the Earth is being harmed, but does that necessarily make the Earth a worse place to live for both humans and other living creatures or could that make it a better place to exist?

Everyday, we see on the news people worrying about how much we contaminate the Earth and the consequences of doing so. When we hear all those terrible things, our first impulse is to start to recyle, use less water, use more the public transport and in general try and live the least contaminating life. Nevertheless, I see eye to eye with people who believe that in this century, it is not a bed of roses to stop contaminating. Every time we turn a light on, or every time we take a shower, we are polluting in one way or another. Actually, a few days ago, I read an article which explained that by polluting we are not just damaging the Earth, we are also harming ourselves as all this, is helping to develop new diseases.

By throwing all those toxic substances to the sea and rivers, we are intoxicating ourselves as every time we go to swim in the sea our body absorbs all those substances. In fact, last summer I went to a beach in Spain and I noticed that the water was very oily. I directly asked a man who lived there why that was happening and he explained that a nearby company was spilling their used oil to the sea. Therefore if I were all those people who believe that human activity makes the Earth a better place to live, I would stop for a second and think about how all this pollution affects humans. Moreover, I would suggest that they see some YouTube videos where people show in what state some places of the Earth are due to the deterioration, as that is the only way people will realise that human activity is destroying the Earth.

Best way to Brainstorm

As far as I am concerned, there are various different ways to brainstorm, but which one is the best one? In my opinion, mapping is a very useful tool as it helps you develop your ideas with much more creativity and it allows you to link a group of concepts together through your own natural associations. This acually happens because mapping is a much more visual tool than the rest, therefore you can very easily find the links between all your ideas.  However, it doesn´t just help you link ideas,  but benefits you in other ways such as to come up with more options and get into much more depth when it comes to the subject matter. I believe that mind maps tend to reproduce how your brain works as often, we consider many random ideas but we have no clue how to choose the most important ones. Nevertheless, with this technique, we can easily prioritize the most important ideas.
